Welcome to Smith's Flowers and Gift's home on the web!
We strive to offer the most up to date styles, along with the highest quality products and service available in the Midland Michigan area.
Founded in 1947, Smith's Flowers and Gifts is now in it's third generation being operated by Mark and Cherie Smith, and their very competent staff including the fourth generation of "Smith's". Smith's Flowers and Gifts offers a complete floral shopping experience, from the smallest corsage to the most inspiring Sympathy Tributes available in their delivery area.
Housed in a 7500 square foot custom building, designed by Alden B. Dow AIA in 1955, complete with three floors of giftware excellence and even a large indoor fish pond. Smith's Flowers and Gifts gift selections run the gamit from high quality crystal, solid brass and wood, to linens, and candles, garden accents, candy, Lampe Berger, Language Art, and much more.
Also housed within, you will find the Circle Gallery featuring work from many local Michigan Artisans, including jewelry, blown glass, metal sculpture, photography, oil and water color framed work, to name a few.
Interior pictures, come, let's take a walk...
Standing in the front of the store, near our indoor fish pond (the only one in Midland) you can see our three floors very clearly and off to the right, at the far back our service counter.
Standing back by our service counter looking out toward the front of the store where we were just standing in the above picture. You can see how warm our new colors make the store feel.
Taken from the same position as the first image, looking to the left toward the front door on the left and the cafe' counter that used to house our coffee shop. Maybe it will again one day.
Standing on the other side of the fish pond, looking up the stairway to our second floor.
Looking from the top of the stairway to the second floor you can see the built in tables and shelving.
Our third floor, looking from the top of the stairs toward the area where we hold our art classes and design demonstrations and other community events and meetings.
Standing above our service counter up on the third floor over looking the front of the store, you get a good sense as to how Alden Dow designed the building to be a show place. From the built in tables to the Howard Miller bubble lights, bent walls and a fish pond complete the scene. We feel very blessed to be doing "our art" with "God's art" in a building that is itself, a piece of art.
